Elizabeth finds her stride post-cancer
I'm feeling better than I have felt in a long time. It's sounds weird but I don't like to walk unless I have my UP tracker on my wrist.
As part of my post-operative recovery from cancer, I was strongly encouraged to walk. It was slow at first and a challenge to make the effort to walk every day. The winter rains seriously curbed my enthusiasm. Walking around the block was not motivating.
A week into my walking program I was about to quit when I remembered my UP24. I had trouble finding it as I hadn't worn it in ages. I managed to get it activated, on my wrist and was excited to follow my activity level. I am now hooked on checking my progress at least three times a day. Last night when I was really tired, I went to the gym and walked two and a half miles. I laughed—UP made me do it.
So now I have a new normal, I’m a bit surprised—I used to enjoy being a couch potato! Now on rainy days I go to big box stores and walk the perimeter. It's amazing how many steps you can get in walking two circuits. I'm feeling better than I have felt in a long time. It's sounds weird but I don't like to walk unless I have my UP tracker on my wrist.
